Pool. I suck at it.

Category: FTO, Opinion, Personal, Playoodles @ 1:54 am

Really I do. I dunno I guess I just don’t get angles or something.

Also, the FTO is fixed! It wasn’t even the engine mount, but after adding Copper Paste to the bushes of the suspension, no more creaks and groans. Now its just my music which causes the rattles. So happy though, with the new engine mount the throttle response is great. Much more low down power and thanks to the suspension being fixed I’m enjoying the handling a hell of a lot more.

In relation to the sucking at pool note, being going out a lot more lately, mostly thanks to finally getting tired with gaming in general. When you’re getting consistent high scores I’m not sure how much more is there to be explored.

Oh, and I want this:

Miracle blade, motherfuckers.

Time.

Category: FTO, Personaloodles @ 4:52 am

Engine mount for the FTO goes on today. Good god I hope that it is whats causing the creaking and groaning from under the car. According to popular opinion thats exactly what it is so I sure hope so.

I got over the flu as well, its taken me at least a week though and the only thing I can say about it is that I don’t think I had it as bad as anyone else, as the worst I had was a sore throat. I had the muscle aches and all but no crazily bad sickness which I’m thankful for. Might have been the immediate flu tablets and bed rest, but still.

I also saw a few movies whilst sick, those bing the Simpsons Movie, Redline and Fracture. The best of the three? Fracture. The Simpsons movie had roughly 2 or 3 actually funny scenes, the rest were merely amusing, and Redline has to be the worst movie using the best cars imaginable. Honestly I haven’t seen another movie which used such ridiculously expensive and fantastic cars in the worst movie I’ve seen in a long time. Acting, story, everything.

Fracture on the other hand had Anthony Hopkins playing a cool & calm killer and it was just as good as his other performances such as in Red Dragon or Hannibal. It’s worth seeing.

Cough, wheeze

Category: FTO, Newsoodles @ 1:22 am

I’ve been sick since Sunday morning at about 3am. Immediately went to bed and rugged up as I expected the worst, and it was. I think I’ve either got the flu or a strong head cold. I’m almost over it now, but have a strangely heavy cough like I got the flu AND a cold at the same time. Oh well as long as my sore throat stays gone. I can’t taste a damn thing at the moment either.

I did get out of the house today though, to go get my new engine mount which finally arrived, but on the way there the local council of course had fucking done some roadwork on my road and of course, hadn’t swept off the loose gravel and as I came around the corner closest to my place someone was coming the other way and spattered my car with rocks. I now have a chip in the windscren and a spot on the bumper where a stone has gone down through the paint. God I hate this council’s policy on loose gravel. Heres the engine mount for interest, it weighs a LOT more than I expected. I suppose it has to be tough but I didn’t expect it to nearly break my wrist when I picked it up:

Huzzah, now to get it fitted.

Just had a bit of hail too, and apparently I got heavier hail than the rest of the area, as mine were as big as golf balls?!

Luckily the FTO was parked deeply back in the garage and out of the way of the suckers.

I’ve also ordered a new soundcard, a Creative Audigy  and at the moment I’m not getting it because the place I ordered it from *cough Umart *cough* had more than 5 in stock apparently but the line has been discontinues so they’re not going to send me it. What? I ordered it from that exact score because they have stock, not because I want an email a day later saying they want to sell me a more expensive card. Retards.

Updates, updates.

Category: FTO, News, Playoodles @ 4:39 am

I’ve updated the [r.]ebellion website with PHP-Fusion and at the moment I think it looks pretty damn good in comparison to the old Joomla based site. Joomla is great if you’re a very technical IT employee at a business, but its overcomplicated for what I wanted. The new site looks cleaner and its way more functional. Starting a UT3 side too, well, as soon as the game comes out anyway. Need to get in on the ground floor for this puppy.

Still no engine mount, and RPW lost my cash for a small time there which concerned me a little but apparently its now been found and its been sent off to me. I should schedule the FTO for installation & getting the climate control fixed sometime this week. God it will be good to get some heat into the cabin again.  Also my dad got me a Chamois the other day, an awesome Armorall jumbo size one too, and I’m very grateful. It was funny though I gave it a full wash about 10 minutes earlier, then went out with the chamois to test it out and started cleaning huge amounts of black dirt off it after it had its wash. Suppose it either shows how good it is or how bad I wash the FTO. :P

I hope I get the engine mount installed before the end of the week though as I have a cruise on the weekend. Will be the first time I meet up with the guys from the local car club too, will be nice to see the other cars. Fair few birthdays this month too, 4 in fact. I won’t mention who they are, but happy birthday to all of them. :)

On the subject of disappointments

The ‘if it sounds too good to be true it probably is’ line certainly applies.
