The FTO… is go!

Category: News, Personal, Playoodles @ 2:54 am

Looks like the FTO is a confirmed item! After a couple of discussions Ive been told that I can start looking for one absolutely immediately. Im looking for a 1995 GPX with around the 100,000k’s mark, which should be easy enough to get within the price range we have. If Im ever going to do mods on this thing however, they’re going to be purely cosmetic. From what Ive read about the FTO, Mitsubishi basically got it right the first time with the MIVEC timing and overall performance out of the V6, so its pointless actually considering some modifcations like super or turbo charging it. Apparently the best thing to do is lighten it up with carbon fibre panels and whack on a titanium cat-back. Not much more.

This car is going to be awesome however, Im absolutely stoked about it. I dunno what other 13k sportscar you can get with power windows, triptronic, and a NA 150kw engine that goes to 8500rpm with a certain roar. :D Looking around for one isn’t too much of a problem either, I have a 10 page checklist of items to look for when buying an FTO specifically, and its the most comprehensive buyers guide Ive ever seen. Part of the deal for getting the FTO is doing a defensive driver course, which in my opinion isn’t really a downside, it just allows me to slide around in the wet in my own car. Insurance is a hassle, but its probably going to be around 2.5k as Im nearly 21 driving a grey import. The other funny thing about the FTO’s is that they are not on the prohibited P-Plater list, so Im thinking they’re going to be in huge demand soon.

Won’t be going to Canberra anymore at the end of this year, that fell through unfortunately, so I’ll be continuing with my course and going to University next year. Terrible, terrible University. :x

Fight for your right

To paaaaarrrtay!

Had a great time at a mates 21st party this past weekend, with much festivities and general boogeying of down. I got DJ Matt Restless from BassByte.com to make us up a custom Birthday mix (A huge thankyou to him, hugely nice effort), and man did that go down well. Also as a group chip-in effort we got him an engraved Beer Stein, which came up looking great as well. The entirety of the night was spent mostly in the spa though, and a spa with some great friends and drinks always makes for a good night.
