Graunch

Category: FTO, News, Opinion, Site Network, Workoodles @ 6:01 pm

The FTO needs a new engine mount, its what’s been causing the terrible crunching sound from the front every time I move it. Should be about $270, as I want to get it reco’d in polyurethane instead of the standard ones as they seem to break or give way non stop, and one of the others is polyurethane as well which would mean one side of the engine is weak compared to the other, so the weak one would have even more strain placed on it.

I saw Pirates 3 on Friday night, wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good either. It had some very random moments which were very out of place (Elizabeth’s designer dress), and after reading about it on Wiki it really wasn’t finished. After the credits as I’m sure nearly everyone knows is another scene. That scene actually went for much longer, and there is an actual explanation as to why it is there that was filmed, but cut due to time for some reason so the movie doesn’t totally make sense. Stupid doing it that way as it doesn’t finish the movie.

BassByte is doing damn well at the moment from what I can gather from the Network stats too:

Figures in parentheses refer to the 7-day period ending May 26 2007 at 3:06 PM.

Successful requests: 93,830 (25,431)
Average successful requests per day: 3,756 (3,632)
Successful requests for pages: 64,081 (18,429)
Average successful requests for pages per day: 2,565 (2,632)
Failed requests: 575 (8)
Redirected requests: 1,733 (88)
Distinct files requested: 1,035 (245)
Distinct hosts served: 2,311 (79)
Data transferred: 191.93 gigabytes (34.52 gigabytes)
Average data transferred per day: 7.68 gigabytes (4.93 gigabytes)

I mean, over 3k hits isn’t bad for a word of mouth site at the moment. I’m not sure what to do about it either, should I put ads on there or get merchandise happening like shirts or hoodies? Thank god for DreamHost though, they’ve almost given me 3Tb of bandwidth now, only a couple more weeks and I’ll have it.

As for the music itself, I’ve been thinking about it a lot and I think that only electronic music can bring about the state of euphoria that I get every time I listen to extremely good pieces of hardtrance or hardstyle. Rock just does nothing for me that way, I feel like the singer or the beat is flawed and uncontrolled due to simply the nature of the genre. Guitars have never impressed me much as they barely have any control, you control the notes but most of the strumming I see just makes it seem like a mess. To me anyway, I did file this under Opinion as well. :P

This software testing job I got is actually pretty good too, I talk to the Developers and they tell me what to try, I check everything works and send in a report, then off I go. I heard when I was in there last that I put in about twice the amount of data in my report than others or something along those lines, so I’m kinda happy.

SED Displays, Earthumping music and religion.

Category: News, Opinion, Personal, Play, Site Networkoodles @ 12:28 am

Thats what this entry is about.
SED Displays, as you can check out here is new display technology that I’ll be waiting for. Incredible clarity and 1ms response time. Take THAT, shitty LCDs with your awful colour quality and ghosting. :x Im already saving for one of those babies. They sound awesome.

Ive also (during my boredom and love for Techno) set up a HardStyle download archive called BassByte.com, where participants of the GlobalHardStyle Forums can up their mixes for everyone to download. Ive got plenty of bandwidth, go nuts. :D

Finally, over the course of the night in IRC msyelf and my mates have been talking about religion, and how absolutely ridiculous and stupid it is. It just doesn’t make any sense to us. If a raving lunatic dressed in a potato sack ran up to you and started telling you of this magical story about a guy who could walk on water and turn water into wine, Id think he was either drunk, high, or escaped from a mental institution. I believe that one ot eh primary reasons religion is still around today is that its become mainstream, and theres many families who get their children to follow in their footsteps and continue with the religion they have themselves.

The blind leading the blind..
